Prevention of Modern Slavery: Mr. Herzenni in the Alliance Against Trafficking in Persons Conference

The President of the Advisory Council on Human Rights (CCDH), Mr. Ahmed Herzenni, participates on September 14-15, 2009 in the Alliance Against Trafficking in Persons Conference on the prevention of modern slavery. The CCDH participation aims to exchange best practices in the fight against human trafficking.

The conference, to be held in Vienna, will be attended by government representatives, parliamentarians, experts, media professionals and civil society activists in the fight against human trafficking from 56 member countries of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and its Mediterranean and Asian partners.

The conference will discuss how to prevent human trafficking from different angles: the business model and socio-economic causes of trafficking, best practices on prevention and the media's role in combating trafficking in human beings and its responsibility to cover trafficking cases sensitively.
